Muscat International Airport Witnesses the First Childbirth of an Indonesian Passenger

Last Saturday, Muscat International Airport witnessed the first childbirth of an Indonesian passenger on Saudi Arabian Airlines SV836. The flight which took off From Jeddah to Kuala Lumpur, was forced to make a landing at Muscat International Airport after the expectant mother went into labour.

 

Muscat International Airport handled the emergency case of the Indonesian passenger at about 6:50 am, immediately upon receiving the notification from the Operations Tower. The medical staff of Muscat International Airport clinic were waiting for the arrival of the airplane to deal with the emergency case of the passenger who delivered her baby safely after landing. Following the completion of procedures, labour process, and medical examination, the mother and the newborn were taken to the Royal Hospital for treatment, and both are in good condition.

 

Muscat International Airport is equipped with state-of-the-art medical services to handle emergencies, which places the airport in full readiness at any time.

 

Oman Airports had signed an agreement with KIMS Oman Hospital regarding the provision of medical services at the new Muscat International Airport, which was officially operated on 20th of March. The new passenger terminal includes two clinics and three first aid centers.

 

The provision of the necessary medical services to passengers, airline crews, and all employees of the new Muscat International Airport is in compliance with the international regulations and requirements imposed on airport operators.

 

Muscat International Airport is witnessing an annual growth of passengers and airlines, which will contribute to achieve the company's vision to be among the top 20 airports around the world by 2020.
